Soapstone / Steatite
Premier Insulator

The premier material for high-frequency electrical insulators. Fired steatite ceramics deliver outstanding dielectric strength (>10 kV/mm), low dielectric loss factor, excellent thermal shock resistance, and mechanical strength exceeding 100 MPa. Composition: 90–95% talc (Mg₃Si₄O₁₀(OH)₂), fired at 1300–1400°C to form enstatite/clinoenstatite.
